Hey everyone. Sorry I’ve not been around for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been off having my baba! Here she is :) Kaya Aurora Rose Cockayne, born 3/5/12 (her due date!) at 10:32pm by forceps, weighing in at 7lb 6oz. I’ll spam you all with pictures of her when I next get on the computer (not had time evidently :( ) as my phone is broke atm, so not even got tumblr on my phone for the time being.
Missing you tumblr folks so much, hope i’ve not missed too much.
Anyways, I’m off to try and get miss “I want to stay awake all night” off to sleep as she’s being a right bugger today :P

Always reblog this. A lot of the animals they kill (and they kill over 95% of the animals they take in at their Virginia Headquarters) are killed within 24 hours. Not nearly enough time to deem whether an animal is adoptable or not. They even bought a giant fridge to store the corpses!
PETA is a corporation. Not a charity. Less than 1% of their 32 Million+ annual budget actually goes to directly helping animals. Most of it is spent making sexist/racist/ domestic abuse supporting commercials that won’t even air on television, giving bail outs to convicted arsonists and criminals, hiring/supporting any celebrity that claims to be vegetarian for five minutes, creating campaigns to target children (“Your mom kills animals”), fruitless lawsuits like suing Sea World for violating the constitution, and most recently, making porn. I’m not against porn, but I fail to see how it fucking helps animals.
PETA does not give a shit about animals.
Plus, these assholes have the gall to insult Steve Irwin.

Just found some interesting documents that the NHS have published on Alcohol use and Drug use…
I’ve only had a quick glance, going to have a proper read later, but here’s some very interesting quotes:
“Using the current ONS definition, in England, in 2009 there were 6,584 deaths directly related to alcohol. The most common cause of death linked to alcohol consumption was alcoholic liver disease which accounted for 4,154 of the deaths in 2009…Deaths from alcoholic liver disease represented 63% of all alcohol-related deaths in 2009.”
“There were 2,182 notifications of drug related deaths in 2009 in the UK and Islands”
(Note: This statistic is taken from “An annual report ‘Drug-related death in the UK’ 11 published by the International Centre for Drug Policy at St George’s University of London”)
“In 2010 there were 1,784 deaths reported as being due to drug misuse”
(Note: “Drug misuse” in this document refers to illegal drugs. These statistics are from “England and Wales using the General Mortality Registers (GMR), derived from medical death certificates”. Also, “Deaths related to drug misuse are those defined as ‘deaths where the underlying cause is drug abuse or drug dependence or deaths where the underlying cause is drug poisoning and where any of the substances controlled under the Misuse of Drugs Act are involved”)
So, in 2009, there were (around about) 3 times as many deaths directly linked to Alcohol consumption in England alone , than drug related deaths in the entire of the UK and its Islands. And 6 times as many in the proceeding year in England And Wales.
